MCUSD Mandated Trainings Matrix 2024-2025
⇒ Trainings may include, but not be limited to:
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training 1-Hour Non-Supervisory Personnel SB 1343
Required of all non-supervisory staff (including coaches and substitutes).
Sexual Harassment Training for Supervisors AB 1825
Required of all supervisory staff (administrative management, classified management, athletic directors, school board members, food service lead, maintenance foreman, driver trainer, executive assistant to the superintendent, ASES coordinator)
Child Abuse and Mandated Reporter Training
Assembly Bill (AB) 1432 (Chapter 797/2014) requires that districts provide annual training for employees in their responsibilities as mandated reporters. Employees will learn about their responsibilities as mandated reporters, will be trained on the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect, and will find out what they will need to do to correctly file a report.
Integrated Pest Management
All staff who use disinfecting wipes will be required by law to participate in a training to learn about safe pesticide use around children. Under no circumstances will staff be permitted to use disinfecting products, wipes, or sanitizers* without taking this training. These restrictions also include ant bait traps, insect sprays, bait gels and pastes.
WHY? Antimicrobials like disinfectants and sanitizers are pesticides because they are designed to kill germs on surfaces. All pesticides must be used in accordance with label instructions and out of the reach of children. The Healthy Schools Act requires that all school staff who use these products must be properly trained.
Bloodborne Pathogen Training
To ensure that all staff are properly informed about bloodborne pathogens, a training is provided annually to staff. Employees who may incur occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials will need to be trained, regardless of exposure frequency.
Suicide Prevention and Response Training (for Teachers)
Per board policy, this training is designed to prepare teaching staff of grades 7-12 to be prepared for and identify students who might be struggling with thoughts of suicide.
Discriminatory Harassment Training (Title IX)
Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 protects people from discrimination based on gender in any federally-funded, education-related programs and activities. Title IX requires educational institutions to provide students and employees with an environment safe from sexual misconduct, such as sexual harassment and sexual violence.
Human Trafficking Training (Certificated Staff)
Sponsored by 3Strands Global Foundation (a PROTECT coalition founder), the Human Trafficking Prevention Education and Training Act amends the California Education Code (EC) Section 51934 of the Health Education Framework for grades seven through twelve to require human trafficking prevention education in public schools. This legislation also amends EC Section 51950 to require the continuation of training for school district personnel regarding human trafficking.
